Are You Ready?

Let me ask you something. Are you ready?
Are you ready to take radical responsibility and do the work necessary for healing to take place?
Are you ready to look at the many layers and facets of yourself and your life so you can release anything that is contributing to illness or dis-ease in your body, mind, or spirit?
Are you ready to do the work of replacing the old beliefs, thought patterns, and habits that are dragging you down with new ones that support your well-being?
Are you ready to treat all the parts of yourself with kindness and compassion? Are you willing to connect to and receive kindness and compassion from others, and most especially from our Creator, who is the source and fountainhead of light, life, love, and truth?
One of the earliest steps in any healing journey is deciding that you are ready to do the work, no matter where it takes you. It means setting a clear intention, that you will stick with it, even if it gets scary or messy or difficult. It means getting crystal clear that the pain and discomfort you are experiencing are invitations to change and step into a new way of being.
The poem below is something I wrote as a way to capture what a healing journey requires. On the one hand, it requires unwaivering commitment and willingness to do the work. But it also requires a deep sense of surrender and trust. When someone is deeply connected to Divine Love, they are able to trust. When they trust, they are able to surrender. And when they surrender, they almost paradoxically, are able to do the work of transforming their beliefs, thoughts, words, actions, and habits. In short, they become a new person.
HEALED
It’s Time.
To lay down your arms,
Drop your shields,
Unbuckle your armor,
Release the weight,
Of fighting for Control.
It’s Time.
To surrender,
To allow,
The Glory of Divine Light,
To enter into,
The landscape of your heart.
It’s Time.
To voyage,
To the deep places,
The shadows,
Embracing the Ones who live there,
With compassion and grace.
It’s Time.
To see,
Beyond the veil,
Perceiving with your heart,
The Power and Beauty,
Of your essence.
It’s Time.
To step,
Onto the Sacred Path,
Receiving the gifts,
Of healing,
With reverent wonder.
It’s Time.
To awaken,
To ascend the heights of Infinite Love,
Allowing the shadows of fear, guilt, and shame,
To be engulfed,
Until they are no more.
It’s Time.
To see the exquisite Truth,
Beauty and Goodness,
You reflect.
Free, pure, and whole,
As you are meant to be.
It’s Time.
To be whole.
To be healed.
To be alive.
